I've had the privilege for the past five years to be a stay-at-home Mom to my two beautiful children. Whenever birthdays and holidays rolled around, I often found myself concerned and frustrated with the wasteful excess in packaging of new items, especially toys. It's overwhelming to think about all of that ending up in landfill somewhere so unnecessarily. Not to mention, what do you do with all the stuff that they've grown out of or lost interest in that is still in great condition? What kind of planet will we be leaving behind for them? I found that so many Moms like me felt the same way, and so A Playful Planet was born! Since this adventure began, I've realized it's been a great tool for teaching my kids the value of things, why it's important to take care of what we have, and that things don't always have to be brand-new to be great! I hope you'll join me in my quest to set an example for the next generation by re-using fun things and keeping our precious planet playful!
